Today Is A Great Day.

How much does school matter? Not much, if you ask recent high school graduates. I spent the day talking with 6 students who had, in June, thrown off the shackles of education. They wanted to prove to the world that school really doesn't count for a whole lot. The discussion is as follows:

DAYTONA: So, tell me why you think school is useless.
RESPONDENT #1: Well, basically, we figure there are a lot better ways to spend your time. For instance: It's tough to get a booking at a day spa while going to school, as many don't provide all of their services after 4.
RESPONDENT #2: Plus, most teachers are lame.
RESPONDENT #3: I don't even know what school is.
DAYTONA: Moving on. What do you guys think of Pearl Jam's latest album?
RESPONDENT #4: Thanks so much for your time, we'll be in touch.

You'll notice that Respondents 5 and 6 didn't have a lot to say. That's because they were chocolate.

This has been a fictional account of a fictional survey. Some common misconceptions were illustrated in this brief account. Those weren't true, these are true: School is not useless, many day spas do provide their services after 4, and Pearl Jam was never really that great. Also, less than 34% of students actually know what school is. This is a problem, especially in regions where schooling is a part of the mating rituals. This is a good post. We're breaking down barriers and really dealing with the nitty-gritty, aren't we?

That's something blogs are really great at: Dealing with the nitty-gritty. Sometimes I find myself in tough spots, unsure of how to work out my opinion or the way I feel in regards to some really tough issues. When in these situations, my naturaly instinct is to turn to blogs to work through things. Blogs are like personal therapists for the mind, body, and soul. They let you get out all of that aggression and let go of all of those repressed memories you may be hiding. And it's really good. Blogs are the psychoanalysts of today. Eat your heart out, Freud.

This is a great day.
